​JENNIFER NANCE - Varsity Head Coach

​

Jennifer was born and raised in Northern California, where she played both high school and club volleyball.  She continued her playing career at The University of Oklahoma on full scholarship as a middle blocker.  While at OU, Jennifer held four different blocking records; she was also a member of the Academic All Big XII. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Advertising from The University of Oklahoma in 2006.

 

After graduation, Jennifer moved to Dallas and became the Head Volleyball Coach at Lakeview Centennial High School for 6 years.  Nance led the Lady Patriots to the playoffs for the first time in the school’s history.  After that, she spent a year as the assistant varsity and JV coach at Lovejoy High School, where the JV team was the undefeated District Champions.  Jennifer has coached club at Skyline Juniors, and is currently with Excel Volleyball Club.

 

This will be Jennifer's sixth year at Pearce. In 2014, the Mustangs made it to playoffs, losing in the Regional Final game to The Woodlands (who won state the following week). In 2015, the team made it to playoffs again, losing in the Regional Semi-Finals to The Woodlands. Pearce had continued their playoff run and has made it to the playoffs every year since Coach Nance has been at Pearce.

 

In December 2018 Jennifer and her husband, Jonathan, welcomed their daughter

(and first grandchild of the family) Juliette.  In her free time, she hangs out with Juliette, Jonathan and their dog, Jasper.  They continue to travel as much as they can and are working on getting more stamps in Juliette’s passport!

 TORI TURCK - Junior Varsity Coach

Tori grew up in McKinney, Texas where she started playing volleyball at a young age. Tori played both high school and club volleyball. After graduating from McKinney Boyd, she attended the University of Texas in Austin where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.

​

After graduating, Tori returned to the North Texas area where she began coaching at Summit. She joined the coaching staff at Pearce High School in 2018. Tori coaches the Freshman A volleyball team.

 Tara received her undergraduate degree from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa where she played volleyball and majored in both Athletic Training and Physical Education & Health. After graduating, she continued her education as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Southern Methodist University and received her Masters of Liberal Arts Degree. Before deciding to switch and work as a coach and teacher, Tara worked as an Athletic Trainer at Pearce for 14 years before joining the volleyball coaching staff. She has 2 kids, Tenley (6) and John David “JD” (3).

Crystal Clark is entering her first year as the Freshman B Team Volleyball Coach.  Prior to joining the Pearce Coaching Staff 4 years ago, Clark was part of the North Viking Junior High Coaching Staff where she coached volleyball for 4 years.  Two of those years she led the 8th grade B team in successful seasons with 7-1 and 6-2 season records.  Clark is also entering her first year as the JV Basketball Coach after leading the Freshman Basketball Program for 3 successful years Clark was also the JV Coach in the Lady Mustang Softball Program for 2 years.  She is a coach that truly believes in building from the bottom up and that mental strength is an important key to successful growth.
